Westie, I'm really topping this for you 'cause I don't have a clue, but I read some old 2002 postings which offered:
Port Hardy: don't stay at the Thunderbird but instead at the Quarterdeck (sounds pretty basic but clean).
Are you planning to visit Vancouver at all before doing the Inside Passage? If so, I could offer some suggestions.
I never go to Tsawwassen so can't help you there, and nothing came up on a quick net search.
Cheers,
Linda

In Tsawwassen try the Tsawwassen Inn. Just a few minutes from the ferry terminal and very nice. Not luxurious but well above average.
I DO NOT recommend the Town and Country Inn in Delta, the other nearby reasonably good hotel. I took a tour group out there last autumn and they goofed things up just about any way they could have - from rooms to restaurant reservations.
Hope this helps.

In Port Hardy last week I used the Glenn Lyon Motel. Nice place. Our room was one of the higher priced ones, and it was spacious and had a good bed.
The place has an elevator.
It is fairly easy to find, but then, too, Port Hardy is not a large town.
