Hotel good for families in Quebec City

Hi all,
My family (2 adults and 2 teens) is planning to go to Quebec City the first week of July. Most posts I've seen have recommended romantic, boutique hotels but that's not what we're looking for this trip. Location is the most important factor, we'd like to be able to walk to most of the popular things to see. A pool would be nice, but it's not essential. Price range is no more than $200 US. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

Topping for Pat because I too would be interested in this type of hotel for my family. Any suggestions?

I would recommend the Hotel Chateau Bellevue located at 16 Rue de la Porte for its'location, one block behind the Chateau Frontenac. The hotel faces a park and provides free self-parking at the rear of the hotel. Tourist attractions, shops, restaurants, etc. are all within easy walking distance. The hotel is not romantic or atmospheric but is spotlessly clean and very quiet. I recently booked a room in the middle of August for $CAN 129. Their website is www.oldquebec.com.

We always stay at the Hilton.

I'm pretty sure they have a pool.

You can check their website and see if this is the place for you.

Good Luck! Richard

I would recommend the Hilton as well. It does have a pool (on the roof!) and is very well located, just outside the old city gates, close to Cartier and St. Jean streets, and not far from the plains of abraham. Great views from many of the rooms too.
