Honeymoon in NewFoundland

Hi,
We're taking a two week honeymoon in end of August/early Sept, driving up from Massachusetts, to Bar Harbour to Nova Scotia to NewFoundland. We'd like to spend most of our time in NF and have decided on 2 places we absolutely want to see: Gros Morne and Trinity/Bonavista. We're going to take the ferry to and from Port Aux Basques, which requires backtracking after we stay in Trinity, but the ferry on the east coast seems too hard to time (leaves only once, every other day)...My question is: is 2 weeks enough time?? How far is the drive from Gros Morne to Trinity? Is it worth stopping in the middle or just keep going till we get to the other side? We don't want to spend our whole honeymoon in the car and would like to have a solid 3 days in Trinity. Also, can anyone recommend either a great camping spot in Gros Morne or a nice B&B?? Thanks!

Hi from Newfoundland

A good website to check out would be www.gov.nf.ca/tourism. This has a listing of all accomodations in the province and good descriptions on different areas in the province. I hope you have a wonderful honeymoon and if you have any more questions feel free to contact me at my email address and I would be more than happy to check things out on this side for you.

Karen

Yes, 2 weeks is enough time for Gros Morne and Bonavista/Trinity. The trip from Gros Morne to Trinity will take 6-8 hours, depending on whether you stop for long in the middle. The Mary March Museum in Grand Falls is worth an hour stop. Camping spots abound in Gros Morne. The Ocean View Motel and the Wildflowers B&B are good in Rocky Harbour, Gros Morne. See also: http://newfoundland.homepage.com for links to Newfoundland maps, etc. Have a great trip. Lots of icebergs off Newfoundland this year! Doug.

I'd recommend the following ... While in Gros Morne, stay at The Wildflowers in Rocky Harbour, and while in Trinity, stay at The Fishers Loft ... both are very nice.
