Gelato In Calgary

I know that Calgary isn't a gelato mecca by any means, but during the course of my trip research, I read that there were a couple of places in downtown Calgary worth trying. The problem is, I can't remember the names. Help in jogging my faulty memory would be appreciated.

I can't vouch for any of these places personally (dairy products don't like me ), but here are some Calgary and area ice cream/gelato places to consider:

Philip's Ice Cream (783 Northmount Drive)
Philip's Forbidden Flavours (17th Ave S.W)
Phone number for both is (403) 291-2692

Fiasco Gelato (807 ? 17th Ave SW)
Phone (403) 710-2344

MacKay?s Ice Cream in Cochrane
Phone (403) 932-2455

Thanks

On another forum yesterday, I read that Fiasco Gelato had opened a location on 1st St just off of the Stephen Avenue Walk, but when I tried looking them up in the Calgary yellow pages, all it came up with is the 17th Ave location. Do you know if it's open on 1st St or not?

I'm just in time then.

Odd that both locations have the same number in the address. I wonder if that's by design.

Good point!! I didn't even notice that the address numbers are the same!! But I called and that was the address that he gave me (so there is always a possibility that he gave me half of one adress and then half of the other address - easy to do if you're distracted whle giving directions). However, if it's just off Stephen Ave on 1st - it shouldn't be that difficult to find. Someone along the way is sure to help out with more specific directions.

Good luck!!

Kostroma,

Not sure where you'll be in Calgary and whether or not you have access to a vehicle but I can say that there is a new gelato place in the NW just off of downtown that is great. And in my opinion, is better than the offerings of Fiasco Gelato.
The store is on Kensington Rd NW just west of the area known as Kensington around 22nd Street.
Hope you enjoy your trip!
