Gas stations and US credit cards?
I read in someones trip report here that gas stations do not accept US credit cards because of credit card theft. Did that person mean AT the pump? Can you use them if you pay inside?
This could be an inconvienence for us, since we use our credit card all the time for travel. I'd like to be prepared. thansks!

If I remember correctly, the person who posted that comment stated that they had to pre-pay for their gas with their credit card. That is, they couldn't just drive up to the pump and start filling their car. I guess the gas station had had experiences of people filling up and driving off without paying.

Visa and Mastercard credit cards from all over the world work at the vast majority of gas stations.
A few stations want you to pay in advance; none that I have ever actually bought gas from, though, in Canada. For these, go into the office and I'm betting your card will work fine.
BEWARE of Discover cards and Diners Club cards. These seem more popular in the USA but are rare in Canada.
American Express denies its main card is a credit card, but regardless, it works just like credit cards do.
