Canada supporting US in war on terrorism.

It was announced today that Canada is now prepared to help the United
States in its war against terrorism.

They have promised to commit:

* 2 of their largest battleships
* 6,000 armed troops
and
* 60 fighter jets.

However......after the exchange rate, that comes down to:

* a canoe
* 2 Mounties
and
* a flying squirrel.
The way I heard it, the Canadian Army planned to loan us their tanks - both of them.

Assuming this is a serious posting, Prime Minister Chretien has supported the war on terror since day 1.

Never underestimate the power of a flying squirrel.

The last one we unleased on the US had millions mesmerised on their couches.

If we sent out one over Iraq, it could destabilise their entire army ( which have never seen anything remotely funny on their TVs).

Now if we added a moose, Turkey would not even notice if US troops were there.

Natasha and Boris could come in and "make them talk" once we have prisoners!

Perhaps I was mistaken in thinking that the forum existed to share thoughts and information on travel-related topics not politics and the lack of support of US policies by Canada's PM.

No-this forum exists for entertainment purposes only. If we can not BE traveling, we can entertain ourselves by talking about travel. Or squirrels and moose .
With things happening in this world that are very 'heavy' and 'serious', we all need a chance to 'lighten' up
