Busker Fest in Toronto and St. Lawrence Market

Hello.

Saw something online about BuskerFest in Toronto. Wondering if anybody has been and if it has been any good in the past??

Also, I hear St. Lawrence Market is nearby to where BuskerFest is being held. So, thought I'd give it a go. Just wondering if there is anything particularly special that I shouldn't miss at St. Lawrence Market?

Cheers,

I have never been but I understand it is fairly good. Planning on going to it this year.

St. Lawrence market is located at Front and Jarvis and closed Sundays. Both north building (only open saturdays; go in morning or before 2pm as its temporary stalls start closing around 2pm) and south building (permanent stores)are worth checking out. On e U.S. magazine recently listed ST. Lawrence in its list of best historic markets. The "special" things are peameal bacon (aka as Canadian bacon) on a bun from Carousel which is famous even before Emril made it more famous; there is great sandwich place in the basement making huge veal sandwiches. Couple of great cheese stores. St Urbain has a wood oven making Montreal style bagels. All of these are located in the south building.

Enjoy!!

We were at the Buskerfest this afternoon but got rained out after a few acts. We live in a Toronto suburb. It's well worthwhile to visit the St. Lawrence Market where the Buskerfest is being held (you'll be right in the middle of it). It is a cordoned off area - about one block in each direction) and cost $5 for entrance (not sure if it's per person). the market does not cost anything.

the events we saw were good and fun and outside of the market are many restaurants and stores. The market offers all kinds of goods, foods, meats, fish, veggies, crafts, clothes and so on and the two buildings are big so give yourself enough time.

Parking could be difficult if you go late but is there. Watch for the Green P directions since it's a big parking garage and close to the market.

You should walk through everything! Have fun.

How much is parking for St. lawrence Market? Is it near the market? Just wondering where I can find a decent parking place for the least money.

Thanks for the responses so far.

There's a good (and cheap!) parking lot at the bottom of the street that runs parallel to the west side of the south Market building. We often park there on Saturday afternoons and it feels like you can stay forever for about $2. It's one of those lots with no attendants; you either enter with your credit card or you take a ticket and then pay before you go back to your car. People often get confused there - just ask, if you're not sure what to do. Somebody will show you.

A correction.

There is not an entrance fee, but it was suggested a contribution of $2, $5 or whatever you wanted that goes to a worthwhile charity (can't remember which one).
