30-day gym pass in Montreal? possible?

30-day gym pass in Montreal? possible?

I'm having a real hard time finding a decent gym that's willing to let me work out for ONLY 30 days while visiting Montreal. All they can say is we sell annual memberships at a monthly rate. That's all find and good assuming I'm staying put in one place for a whole year. Instead, I'm traveling across continents (first Quebec, and then all over Europe).

My question is who do I do business with? The YMCA says they don't offer monthly memberships, instead quote me a $68, 5visit pass, and a $17 day pass. Ridiculous.

I haven't found any rec centers in downtown Montreal who sell monthly memberships either.

If I can't find a place to work out for just a month, I'd be willing to purchase monthly memberships (~$50/month) on an annual basis PROVIDED there were enough locations worldwide to accommodate my International traveling lifestyle.

Who do you recommend?

Hey sandy,

I'm not sure what their policies are but you might want to look into the following gyms

Nautilus (I know they offer 2 month memberships, but not sure about 1mth)

Energie Cardio

MAA club

West End Gym (Not downtown, it's in Cote St Luc, but they do offer monthly memberships for 59$/month)

Hope that helps a bit!

YMCA at 1440 Stanley St. has daily, weekly and monthly passes.
Faclilties are only couple years old and top notch.

the ymca DOESN'T have monthly memberships, unfortuneatly. They have a monthly price. They expect a 12-month commitment, and there day pass is $17. As if anyone would pay that.

I'm in Calgary and the university here has monthly passes available and the facilities are very good. Maybe look into colleges/universities in Montreal to see if they offer the same?

I'm wondering about the Queen Elizabeth hotel. It's not a fabulous gym there, but it's not bad (for a hotel), and I heard from someone that non-guests do use it.
