Which is a better vacation spot - Fiji or Tahiti?
On our way home to the States from Austrailia and New Zealand, we are thinking of stopping at Fiji or the Tahiti/Bora Bora area to break up the lengthy plane ride.
Our family would very much appreciate opinions as to which one would make a better pit stop.
We would be staying over for approx 4 - 5 days. We are looking for some R&R, beautiful scenery, waterfalls and perhaps a zipline and snorkeling for some fun. My husband loves to fish. The beauty is the main thing, though, as well as a nice hotel. Preferably not in the cities area, but not too far off the beaten path either.
Thank you for your help!

Hi Zippy,
you don't really mention a budget, but if that's a factor, Fiji is far less expensive than Tahiti, but I would have to say that Tahiti, especially Bora Bora, has it hands down for beauty, scenery.
Hope this is helpful!

From Nadi to Los Angeles it will be 10 hours, 15 minutes.
From Papeete to Los Angeles, 8 hours, 15 minutes.
I have not been to Fiji, but I have been to French Polynesia twice and the flights in and out of Papeete generally arrive in the middle of the night, terrible hours. I also wouldn't stay near or in Papeete, but try to catch the ferry out to Moorea first thing in the morning. The ferry trip takes about an hour. Once the ferry arrives at Moorea, you can jump on a bus or into a taxi. Yes, French Polynesia is beautiful, but so are the Cook Islands.

Have you considered the Cook Islands?
