Tahiti Airport Hotel
Does anyone know of a clean, inexpensive guesthouse near Papeete's airport. I have around 8 hours between landing from Easter Island and departing for Bora Bora, and I'd like a clean, inexpensive place to sleep for a few hours and shower. Thanks

Hi thit_cho,
I have done that same unsocial trip to Easter Island. Don't worry - Easter Island is a very interesting experience and great fun. Quite a frontier in some ways.
But I am sorry, I didn't travel over from Bora Bora, so I don't know where you can hang out in-between.
Regards,
Anne

Thit_cho,
Try the Tahiti Airport Motel http://www.tahitiairportmotel.com/
I haven't stayed there, but comments from another travel forum seem favorable. It looks decent according to the pictures on the website. I stayed at the Sheraton Tahiti which is also fairly close, but the motel might be just what you need for 8 hours.

Just thought I'd add a short note about the Tahiti Airport Motel -- its a short walk (five minutes or so) from the airport, and is very, very basic, but convenient (especially considering the price of taxis on Tahiti). I would stay there again if I had a short overnight on Tahiti.
