Hi Nicely,

There was a new Thai restaurant that had just opened up when I was there in December, excellent food -- there was no name posted outside, and none on the menu either, but I can tell you it's upstairs near the Qantas office.

the Boardwalk is very good, and I like "The Cow" for pizza.

Regards,

Has anyone tried the Bathhouse? It looks amazing and was recently featured in Travel and Leisure magazine.

I would go back to Solera Vino.

Cuisine.co.nz is a nice resource for foodies traveling to NZ.

For food in Queenstown I am a Big fan of 'The Cow' for great Pizza. Get there about 6pm and you may avoid waiting. The 19th is also somewhere I have eaten and liked (Great wine selection). Joes Garage is the most popular place in town for breakfast.
Had really nice seafood at the 'Dux de Lux'
Cheers

For the most fantastic dining experience try the Bunker. You will have to ask the locals how to get there and get a reservation. The entrance is from an ally with no signs. You can search the web and find many an article written about this fine restaurant.

Our hotel made a mistake in our reservations and booked us into this restaurant as gesture of good will. It was the best mistake ever from our point of view!!!!!

Cheers

We had Christmas dinner at the Boardwalk. It was fine -nothing to write home about.

When we talk about our food experience in Queenstown -the ONLY place that my family talks about is Winnie Bagoes - a pizza place on the main pedestrian drag. Wonderful pizza, garlic bread, etc. We ate there twice - a rarity for us! Sit upstairs on the balcony and watch the people. My kids (ages 12, 13) rank it in their top 5 pizza places in the world (they're keeping track). New York Pizza on Magazine Street in New Orleans is their #1!

There were other things on the menu - but we never got that far.

Winnie Bagoes has been recommended on Lonely Planet's thorntree forum as well. There have been many raves about the cranberry and brie pizza-- yum!
