Reasonable place to stay in Sydney
We are looking to stay in Sydney for about a week. Does anyone know of a nice but reasonable place to stay that has easy access to the sites? Any B & Bs?

Have a look at www.wotif.com.au for a guide to costs/locations etc.

Hate to be boring - but what is "reasonable"? Yours and mine may be completely different. There are B&Bs - mainly quite luxe. How much do you want to spend?
And what do you mean by access? You want to walk to the "sights". How long a walk is too long? Or do you mean by bus? How long a bus ride is too long?
What "sights" did you have in mind?

Have a look at the Habour Rocks Hotel www.harbourrocks.com.au A terrific position and if you book it through wotif it is very reasonably priced for Sydney

newenglanders, if you use the 'search' box on this page and search on, say, sydney +hotels, you'll find quite a few older threads with some good suggestions.
chimani, sorry, but you are being a tad boring. I think we can make an educated guess about what this poster is looking for, and we all know that the major tourist sights, or sites, are clustered around or accessible from the north end of the CBD.

Thanks everyone, We will probably only be sleeping there. We are not interested in sitting by the window looking at the sites. We will get up and go each day by foot and return to shower and sleep so that is what our bottom line is. We have looked at B&Bs and hostels and will keep looking. I guess we definitely would like to keep it below $100 a night and way less if possible. We are in Oz for 2 months so budget will be stretched. So if there are no hidden secrets we can do this ourselves. Will look at the wotif site. Thanks

Don't know if this B&B at 18 Boyce St, Glebe, Sydney, is listed under wotif as haven't checked; its been operating for years and I've had a lot of good reports; $100 a double a night including breakfast is remarkably good value - www.cathielesslie.net
Good inexpensive eateries around Glebe, its close to city with easy transport.
