Port Douglas Accomodations
Family of 4 will be travelling to Port Douglas for 5 nights in late November this year. Have been looking at various 2 bed-room serviced apartments and looking for advice on a list we have narrowed down - Villa San Michele, Cayman Villas or Freestyle Resort. 2 kids ages by the way are 13 and 19. Any recommendations for these or other 4-5 star 2 bed-room serviceed apartments in/walking distance of the main street?

We really enjoyed the Verandahs Boutique Apartments. Sue, the owner is just fantastic and really gave us great suggestions as to things to do while we were there.
We were traveling with my 21 year old niece who was visiting from the US and were very comfortable in our 2 BR unit. The complex is located just a block or so from the main street and about 2 blocks from the beach.
Here is my review from Trip Advisor....they really get great reviews, and rightfully so.

Port Douglas is a world famous location, in Tropical North Queensland, just one hour's drive from Cairns. If you are looking for the best accommodation for your trip and within your budget you can choose Cayman Villas.

I have stayed at Villa San Michele and it was 3 stars then, so doubt it would be 4 star now. Most property in port is 3 star as they have too many rooms and not enough guests so can only afford very little maintenance. The pool was basically in the car park. Had some nice mexican type colour paint and that was about it. The bedroom was not a room, just screens that did not provide privacy (we had one bedroom). The plus side was central in he middle of main street and really no noise from the street as behind the shops. I would consider staying there for $120 a night in current severe downturn. Not a penny more.
