Barry, we stayed in Palm Cove for a week last November. A small picturesque town which is quiet but we enjoyed it and would recommend it. Everything is within easy walking distance.(10 minutes maximum) We stayed at the Sebel Reef House. While there we visited the Angsana resort which is the only one right on the beach. (The road runs parallel to the beach so most of the others you just need to cross the road to get to the beach.) We had a tour of the resort including the rooms. Very modern. The suite had 2 large rooms. balcony, full kitchen and even a washer and dryer in the suite. If we hadn't already booked the Sebel we would have stayed at the Angsana. The rate we negotiated was less than the Sebel although the rack rate was higher. We also ate there one night and the food was quite good. Another place we enjoyed for food was the Mariott restaurant (across from the Angsana) for their buffet nights. One night was seafood and another was Australian food (kangaroo etc.) There are a number of restaurants in Palm Cove and we tried 4 other ones as well.

You"ll enjoy Palm Cove and the Angsana

Laurie
I did post a reply this morning and it was accepted but now it seems to have disappeared so here we go again.

We stayed in Palm Cove for a week last November. (Sebel Reef House) Palm Cove is a small town. (10 minutes maximum to walk anywhere) It is quiet and very picturesque and we enjoyed staying there. (7 days was a little long) As for the Angsana, it is fairly new and so we had a tour of the resort including the suites. It is very modern with the suites having 2 large rooms, fully eguiped kitchen, balcony, and evn a washer/dryer in the suite. we would definitely have stayed there had we know about the resort. The price was less than that of the Sebel reef House. It is the only hotel right on the beach although the road runs right next to he beach so for most hotels you just need to cross the road. The Mariott hotel, across the road from the Angsana, has nightly buffets. We tried the seafood one as well as the Australian one (kangaroo etc.) There are a number of restaurants in Palm Cove. We ate one night at the Angsara and the food was very good

Hope this helps...Laurie
