Having been to both last year, I can assure you they are both great - you can't go wrong either way. I would definitely book a trip in advance, and if you have enough time, try to do an overnight cruise on either sound. Doubtful Sound is harder to get to, so there are fewer crowds. Also, I saw more wildlife on Doubtful Sound than Milford Sound. But Mitre Peak on Milford Sound is an incredible sight. I went to both sounds with Real Journeys (Fiordland Travel).

I found these answers very helpful. It sounds like doing both cruises are a good idea if we have time. Is there an advantage to doing an overnight cruise? Is it just for the joy of the cruise, or is there more wildlife first thinkg in the morning, or does the overnight cruise go further? I'm trying ot decide what to do. Also, if I do both Sounds, and decide to to 1 overnight and 1 day time cruise, which would be better to do overnight?
Thanks for any help. Etcheverry, sorry for hijacking your post!!!
