Melbourne airport to Apollo Bay

What is the best way to get from the Melbourne airport to Apollo Bay? Transfer to the Southern Crossing station and take the V/Line? Was wondering if there is a transport directly from the airport.

Assume you've got your Vline details already Stacey, it likely to be either a train to Geelong and then on to a Bus from there or possibly a Bus for total trip.

Anyway, getting from Melbourne Airport is a cinch with right outside the terminal building you'll find a kiosk towards southern end of terminal and there you can bhuy a ticket on the http://www.skybus.com.au/ and they run about every 10-15- 20 minutes right into the basement area of the Southern Cross station from where regional buses depart or a short walk within the station complex to ticketing area and platforms.

Apollo Bay is a great location, though on one of our cooler coastline areas.

There is a bus service which runs from Melbourne Airport to Geelong - see www.gull.com.au It does drop off at Geelong Station so I assume that would put you in the same spot to then catch the bus from Geelong Station to Apollo Bay.

You would need to check carefully how the times fit together. By the time the bus does drop offs along the way, and depending on its routing, it may still be quicker to catch the aiport bus to Southern Cross station and pick up the V-Line train. Also the bus timetable from Geelong Station to Apollo Bay is designed to be in synch with the train arrival.

How prices between the two options compare I have no idea.
