LAX to Christchurch

Right now, United wants $1260 (USD) but you would fly through Sydney. Qantas (purchased through American Airlines) wants $1604 and a change of planes in Auckland. This is for March 26-April 6. Do you think the price will go down? I really don't want to fly with United as they don't have individual tv monitors. Comments?

Have you looked at www.airnewzealand.com ? Sign up for their newsletter, as they often have good deals.

If you initiate travel after April 1 the prices might go down as you move into the southern shoulder season.

Then again, they might not. What do you think a gallon of Jet A will cost in March?

We flew from LAX to Auckland in Jan 06 and paid a little under $800 pp through Air Tahiti Nui. We did have a plane change in Tahiti but it was only about an hour. You may want to look at options into Queenstown or leaving from San Fran instead. Also check out Air NZ. I've heard that they have great service and maybe even more reasonable prices

We did LAX non-stop to Christchurch at about the same time of the year for about $1100 round trip on Air New Zealand. The flight arrived Christchurch very early in the morning but the service was fine. Returned from Auckland.
