Hotel Sydney

Any recommendations for a hotel close to the cruise docks for one person for the night prior to a cruise in Feb 18? One with transportation from the airport would be nice or at least a reasonable method to get from airport to hotel.

TIA

We have two cruise ship docks in Sydney:

The Overseas Passenger Terminal (OPT) at Circular Quay.

White Bay - Balmain.

You'll need to know which your boat is using ultimately & a check of this site should tell you, if you don't already know:

Sydney hotels don't provide transport from the airport. Well, some may if you're staying in their best suite for a week with your retinue, but for this visit, you'll need to find your own way.

Irrespective of which dock your boat is using, I'd suggest you stay somewhere around Circular Quay/The Rocks. That way, you can take the trai. From the airport & walk to your accommodation.

Closest are Marriott Sydney Harbour, Four Seasons, The Russell, Holiday In Old Sydney. Up a little rise - ShangriLa*, YHA Sydney Harbour.

* if you choose ShangriLa, take the train to Wynyard & walk down Cumberland street. Your google map will show you the route.

Have a look at Booking.com for properties, locations & rates.

If you have more luggage than you can comfortably handle -take a taxi or Uber from the airport. Probably about $40-$50.

Under no circumstances be tempted to take a shuttle.
They have a well deserved appalling reputation.

Thanks for the data. I'll be sailing out of the Circular Quay area.

Got a good tip about the HI Old Sydney and it seems you can practically walk to th ship so we decided to stay there. It has great views of the Harbour too. Seems like a good option.

If you couldn't walk from the Old Sydney to the OPT, you have serious mobility problems! It's <200m

I stayed at the HI Old Sydney Rocks. Out the door, across the street, down the walkway to the right and you are at the dock. Easy peasy. Loved watching the ship arrive early in the morning from the roof top pool area. Saturday market is right outside the door. LOVE the location.

We stayed at the Rendevouz in March for three nights post cruise. It would be an easy downhill walk for you to the overseas terminal. We had a queen room w a large balcony from which we could see the ships docked, and the room also had a small kitchen. We were comfortable there.
