Which Starwood in Bangkok?
We are a couple, in BKK for two nights, want to see temples, night market, etc. Split between Sheraton Grande, Royal Orchid and Four Points. Any recommendations? We stayed in Le Meridient last time and found the area too seedy. I would like to be near at least a convenience store so we can buy water, food for breakfast etc. Thanks in advance!

My fave is the Royal Orchid Sheraton. It's right on the river, convenient for taking water taxis and there is a shuttle boat to the skytrain. There are convenience stores closeby. Most room prices include the lavish breakfast buffet.

Thanks for the help - we are using points so that generally doesn't include breakfast. I think the ROS looks like a good deal and is a level below (redemption wise) the Sheraton Grande. Any thoughts on the new cheaper starwoods - aLoft and Four Points?

IMO, the area around the Sheraton Grande is not nearly as seedy as the area around the Le Meridien, and there's a huge new shopping mall right across the street with a nice supermarket in the basement. The Four Points is very close by, and has some nice reviews by visitors. It's the newest.

I was surprised in a good way by the Four Points on Soi 15.
Breakfast - very good food selection
Gym - weights and cardio, will do for short visits
Pool - a bit small, but nice rooftop location
Service - pretty good, check in and out is fast and efficient
Location - easy walk to asoke skytrain and a huge new shopping center that will might open in Nov.
Good value for points or points and cash.
