Where should I travel to?
Hi everybody. I'm looking for some advice as to where I should go in 2018 for a little away time and experience some new things, preferably in Asia. A little bit of background, I just finished my Marketing Degree in South Africa and I'm looking for some adventure. I'm a massive car enthusiast so I'm looking for a place that might have a decent car scene, maybe like a race track or car events in the area. I was thinking Asia, as their culture is very different to the Western culture I grew up in. I've never really travelled much so this will be a first for me. Please give me your suggestions. Thanks

Don't think Thailand has a car scene, except for the many lux cars you see around Bangkok.
Thailand is mostly known for shopping, jewelry, beaches, fab food-- not just thai, reasonable travel, lux hotels at affordable prices, bars, sex scene, and fun, plus very hot weather

I don't think of Asia in general as having a "car scene". Possibly one is developing in China. Of course, the driving in India, for example, is quite remarkable, but not in the way you seem to mean.
Italy or Germany would be better bets.

I see guys, thank you for your replies. The car scene thing is just a bit of an extra that would be nice. The main concern is just which country should I go to teach? Is Thailand the best?

"teach"? Where did that come from?
What are you planning to teach?
If it's ESL go here:

For information on teaching in Thailand check out the "ajarn" website.

There are some expat forums that will come up with a Google search. Some expat forums have sections set side for teachers. Below is the ThaiVisa Forum. (Thai Visa Forum also has a section for cars too.)

If you do intend to be a teacher in Thailand or any other Asian country my advice is to visit first before you sever any ties back home. Good to have some money in the bank or a retirement pension so you can have a better standard of living than what you get with a salary for teaching. In Thailand some cites are cheaper to live in than other cites. "Cheaper" also includes the cost of local transportation for getting around. Visit first and talk to other expats and even teachers.
Good luck.
