I stayed at the Regent. It was very nice, but the beach at that end of Chewang isn't that great (due to tides). You might check a place called Poppie's, which has a much nicer beach. I'd like to stay there the next time I'm on Samui.

I really like the Central Hotel along Chaweng beach. If you like nice sandy beaches Chaweng is about the only beach there with fine white sands.

I just came back from staying at the Sanitburi on Samui(Bophut area) and although the hotel and ground was very nice the beach was a big let down. Coarse sand and below the water line it felt like mud or something that feel like that.

Another nice hotel that we stop by was the Le Royal Meridian. Stunning view from the rooms and lobby but it's quite far away from everything.

FYI - Great new Italian restaurant - Prego has really good food and atmosphere.

We absolutely loved the Central Hotel- can't say enough about how beautiful the hotel was and wonderful the staff is. Highly recommended!

I agree with the guys about the Central. We were there 2 years ago & loved it. It's also situated on the best part of the beach & is quiet but not too far away from the restaurants & entertainment.

If you want something with a bit of character, you may like to check out Muang Kulaypan Hotel. It's of minimalist style and with excellent food and salas. And it's just a few minutes' walk from the main hectic area of Chaweng.
