Leblon Hotel

Would appreciate your advice.
We are going to Rio in September for our 1st visit and considering accomodation in Leblon Inn located on Rua Dies Ferreira. Is it within walking distance from Ipanema?
Leblon Inn seems to offer the best amenities for the price, but if it it is too far from everything and/or unsafe we will look at other hotels.
Thank you

Rua Dies Ferreira is three blocks from the beach and 10 blocks from Ipanema. Ipanema and Leblon are connected they share the same beach so it is all very close. Leblon is considered a safe residential upscale neighborhood but I don't know that hotel. Is it a good price?

Thank you for your reply. It seems really nice (see link below)-nice pool, balcony, etc. It is advertised on blameitonrio4travel.com for R$176.

Don't want to spent a lot on hotel so it will either be this place or hotel san marco or vermont.

thats a good price w/ a pool! Sometimes you don't want to shelp to the beach and opt for a quick dip in the pool. The locations good.

Leblon is superior. We just came back from Rio and stayed in the Marina Palace. I fainly remember walking past the Leblon and being glad not to have booked it. Not because it's bad, but it's not situated on the beach. And believe me, you do want a hotel on the beach.

Beach front hotels are of course nice in Rio just for the view but in Rio even if beach front you are really not on the beach you have to cross a main boulevard to get there. So if your budget calls for a hotel that is several blocks off the beach then if it is a nice hotel then it is perfectly acceptable as you only loose the view as no hotels are really beachfront. Even though blame it on Rio may have a good price on their website double check with him to see if his prices are current.
