South Beach

We are a party of 4 visiting South Beach for the first time on our way back from Belize. Looking for a reasonably priced hotel, near the beach with a pool. Any suggestions?

The National Hotel is on the stretch of beach near the Delano, Ritz, etc and is a bit more affordable with a great pool area.

If your budget is tight and your requirements for luxury are minimal, try the Haddon Hall Hotel. Rough around the edges but good enough and has a pool. Good location.

A few years ago we stayed at the Savoy Hotel and were very pleased with the price, the pools and the private beach. I don't know what your price range is, but their cheapest room is $119, with taxes it comes to $149 a night.

Check out the Doubletree Surfcomber... just off the strip and right on the beach near Delano and Loew's at a fraction of the cost...nice pool too!

The National, The Shelbourne, The South Seas, The Marseilles, and The Doubletree Surfcomber are all nice oceanfront hotels with pools that are much less expensive than their ritzy neighbors.

However, if your dates are December-May, forget it, all hotels are expensive.

Also, two double beds in a room is not a standard room but an upgrade. Don't even think about trying for one room on priceline.
