Weather in Beijing, Shanghai / Type of Clothes for 6-16/11
Dear All,
I fly to Beijing and from there to Shanghai. I'll be there from 6-16 November and I wonder what kind of clothes should I take with me. Does anybody know if it is windy and cold enough for a sheepskin coat and hat for examble or it is necessary to put on something lighter? (I come from Athens, Greece so I am used to quite mild weather) Thanks in advance

I was just in Shanghai from Oct 12th through Oct 26th. Except for the first day, all other days were sunny and temperatures in the mid seventies F for highs and low sixties F for lows. To be sure, check 10-day forecast (from Yahoo or many other sources such as Google Search) for both cities 2-3 days before departure. I expect Beijing to be much colder.

I was in Shanghai in April and it was cool and in fact the afternoon / early evening breeze was cold. So for this time of year , whilst it is more temperate than Beijing , I would take a scarf , gloves and layers - jacket / sweater etc.
Or , if you want to pack less and 'wing it ' you can buy some nice cashmere in Shanghai at the Peoples No.1 Dept Store in Nanjing Lu , which I did .Cheap and real as long as you know what to look for in as far as making sure it is not soft synthetic .
