Bob- this place looks great and it appears to get good reviews on Tripadvisor. But no pool - doesn't that violate rule #1 in your book??? Also it appears that getting a taxi is problematic as the hotel likes to push their hotel cars.
Is there much do do there? Shopping, sights etc?

BillT, Vientane is a lovely sleepy capital, there is enough for a Couple of days or so, the pace of the place is slow and the people friendly. I really liked it

we will only be ther 2 days, so it should be perfect...

some sights, some shopping, some lao beer...

silk, wood and cloth are the main shopping items..
