We're back from Maine - printed out 29 more pages...I didn't realize you KISSED THE GIRLY-BOY (on the hand) - I only thought they kissed you (just on the cheek???)! Jeane did notice that there was a common trend in your travels: pool-eat-pool-shop-pool-eat. She really wants to do Prasart - we'll have to work that out with a driver - we were thinking of hiring Ratt for a couple of days, just for sightseeing.
Thanks again for a great report.

Thanks for taking the time to put together such a great report. You'll now need another vacation to recuperate from all the energy it took to do this! Info & details were great. Have you been to China? Would love to get the same kind of detail for a trip we're planning there for next year.

Bob with all the time you spend in the pool do you ever sunburn? What do you use? You know where i'm from and we always burn here. When we were in bkk it was pretty hot and sunny in Feb can't imagine in the midst of June! The pool area seemed one of the hotest places in the hotel(except in the water of course) .

cfw---we have been to hong kong several times and love it...we have been once to macau and once for a week to beijing....that's all for now....we are very interested in shanghai...hoping to do a week there sometime soon...karen has a keen interest in xian as well...
sunburn...yes i sunburn very easily and hate it...i hate suntan lotions more than the burn however...that is why i always talk about the shade at pools...i can usually find a corner which is shady... i have a better tan at the moment than i have had for 30 years....in nantucket i stay under the umbrella all of the time except for beach walks...
we have a convertible so once summer starts my head and arms are always well tanned...
when i am in cambridge, i have gpanda hold an umbrella over me as i walk around...

The umbrella is to protect our faithful scribe from all the debris being hurled at him by the liberal minded Cantabridgeans. They probably have planted an RhkKmk shade tree at the Marriott. It has had time to grow from a sapling to provide a great deal of shade since his first visit.

Hi Bob! I'm so happy to read your report and find you had such a great time and offered all the wonderful information (as you know I can't wait to go back)! You probably thought I disappeared so I'll e-mail you and you can send your pictures of this recent trip!

Now, now, fellas... let's not have that political bantering here. This IS a travel forum, you know. (although you might think otherwise if you read some of the other forums on fodors)
Bob and gpanda, you made me LOL with the vision of the umbrella and things being thrown! Surely not... Bob has such a loyal following here. I can't imagine that others wouldn't enjoy his sense of humor and large presence.
Here's another vote for shade at the swimming pool. I can not and do not sit out in the sun for more than 15 minutes at any one time due to fair skin that burns. But I too love to zip around in my convertible when the weather allows. The freckles on my face pop out and don't go away until almost the dead of winter.
Who's the next one going to BKK? It probably will not be me, although I can see the light at the end of the (book) tunnel, and am thinking MAYBE in September for about 10 days.
