Ken-save yourself some time and just stick an icepick in your hand. Much quicker and the same amount of pleasure.

HI:

Thank you for your indepth report. I was hoping someone could tell me how safe it is in Thailand. I am going to China for 10 days in August w/ my (then)14yo and since we will have flown all that way we wanted to go to Tibet or Thailand for a few days. He really wants to go to Thailand but after reading the tour books I'm scared that its not safe and that spitting/littering/etc will get us arrested. Also the tour book makes it sound like everyone is trying to 'stash' drugs on us or in our bags. Any feedback would help. I don't want to tell him no but I'm hesitant to agree. Thanks.

of all the countries i have visited and there are many, thailand is one of the most safe....i guess i would not venture to the very south area around hat yai but otherwise it is perfectly safe by and large and crime free....
