I will be staying at the 'Mansions at Roppongi' from oct 25- oct 30.
Has anybody stayed here? How is the studio appartment? What is the best approach to get there from Narita? does anybody have their tel #, Fax#, or e-mail address.
Is 165/nt a good rate?
thanx

SSA,

We booked to stay there on Oct 11 - 15th. Looks nice we reserved through asiahotels.com for about 167 USD (the rate is changes slighty beacuse of the exchange rate) where did you see the rate of 165 - did it include service fees ?

I am also very interested to see what others have thought of this hotel and how to get there . I would like to take the limo bus at the airport, but I don't know if it will go here.

One strange thing ? It said one the description that the room had a washer/dryer ?? what does this mean? it cannot mean laundry - I am guessing it means dishwasher

I just got this e-mail from The limosine bus service.

Thank you for your mail of August 25.

Please be advised that no direct service between Narita Airport and The Mansions at
Roppongi has been available.

The alternate is that you ride Airport Limousine at the Airport bound for ANA Hotel
Tokyo, from where you can be at The Mansions via taxi in some 10 minutes. It costs
you 3,000 yen one way per person from the Airport to the Hotel which takes some 80
to 120 minutes, and a taxi costs you some 1,000 yen per vehicle.

More details including time table are available on our HP, clicking at Akasaka Area Hotels
to navigate to find ANA Hotel Tokyo.

We hope you could enjoy staying in Roppongi, one of the most exciting street in Tokyo,
and Japan itself in the best season throughout the year as well.

Please do not hesitate to contact us again, if you feel it necessary.

Sincerely Yours,

thats a very polite response, I guess it that is not bad to take a cab from ANA (for 2 people it comes to about 7000 Yen for transfers - or about 64 bucks). We are going to kyoto for 4 days as well, we are thinking about staying at the kyoto royal - www.asiahotels.com has it for $172 but it is pre-pay the whole stay - it seems to be in a great location.

I have stayed here twice. Excellent value for Tokyo. The previous description of how to get there is very accurate. Take the airport bus to the ANA Hotel. Then a 5 - 10 minute taxi ride. If you know your way and have light bags you can walk it, but need to climb stairs to go over a bridge crossing the road.

Make sure you get the hotel to fax you a map to give the taxi driver!

Enjoy your stay.

Thanks SSA - so do you think it(the studio) has a Washer/dryer? It looks like I can see it in the picture on one of the one bedrooms - but it looks like there is a space for it on the floorplan for the studio. If it does this is huge, it looks like a really nice place

My husband and I stayed at the Mansions in March. It was fabulous. We paid about $150/night I think, including taxes etc. I think the exchange rate was a bit better then. Booked through asiahotels.com. On the first leg of our stay, we were upgraded to a one bedroom executive suite which was unbelievable. I felt at home in 5 minutes. It was huge with a big dining room, living room, bedroom, full kitchen and seperate toilet room and bath/shower and laundry room. On the second leg, we were in a studio, which is what we actually paid for. It was more than adequate but if you can spring for the one bedroom, you won't be sorry. ALL units have combination washer/dryer, plasma TV, kitchen and balcony. It is well located and about a 2 minute walk to 2 subway lines. The area is very nice and safe with lots of eating opportunities, as well as grocery stores so you can make your own breakfast and late night snacks (or full meals for that matter). A word about the toilets--they are great! As with most toilets in Japan, the seats are heated and they have a wash function. The ones at the Mansions, you can control the amount and direction of the spray and the teperature of the water. There is even a "dryer"! I was spoiled. A bit of advice, there is an Italian restaurant on the corner near the Mansions (on the same street). DON'T EAT THERE!!! The food is good but you will pay a fortune and walk out starving! I paid $18 dollars for ravioli and got ONE ravioli. And no, it wasn't a giant ravioli, it was about 2 inches in diameter. My husband and I paid over $80.00 for dinner and walked out hungry. Have fun.
