Thailand - Krabi & Phuket hotels

Hi. I want some recos for luxury hotels in Krabi and Phuket from people who have stayed in them recently. I am looking for a luxury, boutiquey property - basically love e.g. Amanpuri Phuket but want to spend about US$150-200 a night. Traveling after peak season in Jan. No kids. thee couples. Want to be not too far from airport and a clean beach. Would welcome any suggestions with website addresses if poss. Thanks.

Try Baan Yin Dee or Avantika or Boathouse in Phuket. In Krabi area try Tubkaak resort.

These are local sites, I would check the latest guest reviews which show the good 'and' the bad

http://www.patong-beach-hotels.8k.com

Has all Phuket plus tips/suggestions that suite couples/boutique places etc.

Somkiet Buri resort in Ao Nang is very nice. You can view this property and many others at sawadee.com.

Has anyone stayed at the Tubkaak in Krabi? I can't find any reviews.

No reviews were posted for Tubkaak. Has anyone else stayed there/ The picutres on the web look nice, but as you all know, it's hard to tell from a web site.

I stayed at the Sheraton Krabi Beach Resort in November 2003. It's not a boutique property, but it costs a lot less than the Tubkaak and has great facilities (spa, tennis court, fitness center). The room was beautiful. Service was excellent. The rate for my stay was US$140 (that's including the 7% VAT and 10% service charge). Transfers to/from the hotel by private car and breakfast were included in that rate.
