South east asia travel budget

I'm travelling south east asia (cambodia, vietnam, laos and thailand) for 5 weeks in Sept and was wondering how much I should budget for. I'm doing a tour for cambodia and vietnam so accommodation is covered but was thinking of lik £30/day and £40/day for laos and thailand.

Would appreciate if anyone could provide any insight ?

Lonely Planet has suggested budget ranges.

E.g.: https://www.lonelyplanet.com/thailan...d-costs/357592

Are you going to Bangkok? Watch Feed Phil on Netflix. His Saigon and Bangkok shows were great. He ate incredibly cheap at the markets.

Have you planned for the quarantine hotel costs and time? You may think that in 10 months the world be 'old normal'. Don't think so.

I can't vouch for other countries but for Vietnam it can go for $40-$60 daily for a couple. Which should include tours daily.

Thailand is much more expensive than Vietnam, especially hotels. In all those countries, excellent street food is served for very litlle (always go to those which are full of Locals, they know the good ones !)

I was in all 4 countries about 3 years back. Laos was the most expensive, but it all depends on where and what kind of place you want to stay. Overall, average hotel bill was about $100/night including breakfast.

Everywhere in Laos, you can find excellent 2-stars hotels for 25-30$ a night, such as the Villa Sisavad (with large pool) or the Mali Namphy Guest House, in Vientiane (where my favourite hotel is the beautiful 3-stars Villa Manoly with large garden and pool - 35-45$) , the Sabaidy 2 in Paksé (my favourite is the Salachampa - 30-35$), the Tephanong GH or the Suan Keo GH in Luang Prabang (favourite Lao Lu Lodge 35-40$) and the Nam Ou River lodge in Nong Kiaw

I don't know about other countries but the food in Vietnam is quite cheap. Especially when there is a local friend, it is even more wonderful with street food.
