You have not said which class you are flying in. I use Singapore Airlines on a regular basis flying coach/economy and find them excellent. Seats are comfortable, excellent in flight entertainment on their seatback TVs, friendly and helpful cabin crew. I always feel that I have a far better chance having a superb flight with them than other carriers, I think they are 'great'.

Singapore Air is the gold standard of airline service- no matter the class you are flying you are in very good hands. Now the only problem you will have is when you fly the other airlines and find the service not quite up to par!(especially the US airlines!)

Worth noting that Singapore Airlines' regional division 'Silk Air' ( prefix: MI ) is also a smart operation. They use A 319 and A 320's, legroom is excellent, they fly the short 'thin' routes such as Lombok, Langkawi, Phuket, Cebu, Siem reap plus many in China and India. Even on short flights choice of main course ( hot meals ), very good cabin crew, efficient. You can ticket thru onto Silk Air just the same as if it was Singapore Airlines, and you pick up air miles too.
In my humble opinion Singapore Airlines loose out big time just not incorporating Silk Air into Singapore Airlines as many seeing a connecting flight to say Phuket would think 'Who is "MI", not knowing that they are part of Singapore Airlines.
So if traveling around SE Asia from Singapore well worth checking out the Silk Air site ( www.silkair.com )

One reason they are number one year in year out is that their service is top notch. The attendants are always moving up and down the aisles attending to everyone's need- contrast that with the US flight attendants who are often missing in action for long periods.
