Singapore Air Refund

Singapore Air fully refunded our fare for two tickets from Boston to Bali. We had booked last summer for our trip with Bob and karen. After my diagnosis and treatment plan, I could not go. I called a number provided by another Fodorite and was told that we would get a full refund. They did so. It's an example of the thoughtfulness and service unheard of in domestic US carriers. The refund covered not only my ticket, but Beth's as well.

Fantastic (and so they should) but good to see a big airline stepping up when needed.
I look forward to your next trip planning......

BTW, I'm 37 days into 42 days of heavy treatment and only a few side effects. One is a considerable loss of fur on my head. If I lose a little more, off comes the rest and I'll be Yul Brenner in "The King and I". Still exercising and working. Scans on June 24th will tell the story.

I hope you can dance as good as Yul in the King and I. Keep that belly firm or you'll look bad in your Speedo.

Hanuman, sometimes the steroids add a bloated appearance. I'm sure Gpanda is still in great shape, though.

Gpanda, I hope you take comfort in knowing that when I went through my "GI Jane" phase of the hair coming in, but short like a "brush cut", I felt very strong, like GI Jane! And when I had no hair at all, I was amazed at what a nicely-shaped head I had. (Another plus was that ALL hair disappeared---I was thrilled at not having to shave my legs!)

Hey GPanda, that's double good news - totally refunded tickets and your handling the treatments well. We now need the third part of the good news with the scans about a month from now. You've got a lot of us cheering you on, and, it's great to see your sense of humor is intact with your unrelenting picking away at Bob.

Keep on fighting - we are all awaiting your next blow by blow trip accounting.

The speedo gets a work out every morning in the hot tub. No one else is awake, so it's safe.

I'm tall enough, if I hold my head up aat a slight angle, one cannot see any hair loss from the front. IF I keep turning so no one gets to my side or behind me, I can maintain the deception. We'll see if the last few shred survive or whether I join Yul and Kojak.

In picking on Bob, one must be relentless. Any slippage at all and he will run roughshod over the forum with his nonsense. The rest of you are too polite to point out his many failings. Not I! It's my purpose.

I'm on borrowed time at the moment as the electric people will cut, or suppose to cut, the power at 8.30 and it's 8.38. They need to repair damages from the red.... you know what.

Andy, be nice to Bob! He wrote me and said that he has bought some batik Speedo as a gift for you from Bali so be nice.

The problem with a batk speedo is that there's only enough material for the pattern to repeat once. You lose the whole batik feel.

Be nice to Bob? If I ever did so, you would worry that I was really sick.

At least I qualify for mental problems. They have no mental health professionals in Needahm sort of the same way they have no orange trees in Greenland. No need.

Just finished a 10 mile bike ride. Early morning to avoid the traffic. Brisk, but refreshing.

Bob bought Gpanda a Batik print for a Speedo??? Yes, but the funny thing is, it's a special cloth that dissolves when it hits the water!! Andy will want to stay out of the pool and stick to wearing the suit and showing off the muscle trick.

Don't know how to break the news to you, but I don't think turning your head at various angles is going to help you. However, just remember, it's what's going on inside that counts, not how it looks!

Just got home after a couple of miles of walking. We had a very wet day yesterday and now temperatures are rising quickly, so it's quite foggy off, but I can tell it's going to be really sunny. Yesterday was one of our weirdest weather days ever, so I hope we're going to get some consistent weather this week. Heard temperatures will be "summer-like".

>>>Singapore Air Refund<<<

Oh, this warms my heart on this warm Sunday! Yes, every now and then, 'god-like' treatment from that cherished carrier.

Now, belated congrats on the news panda, and warm wishes for speedy recovery, Andy, Speedo or no. (And keep monitoring that singaporeair.com : some little select promos and increased service, SIN-BKK, before much longer. And, some rather special hotels in Bangkok already have attractive 'frequent guest' offers out there; one week and counting before my return for a few days - 'pg-13' updates, to be sure.)

Best wishes to you (and SQ) and warm greetings to all in Thailand - and 'Uniquely Singapore'.
