Hello guys,

I'm flying out on next week to Thailand. So could someone tell me about all the huge shopping malls near Khoa San.Are they anywhere near there?
went last year but i stayed at a hotel and the receptionist sorted out it all.

Many thanks !

What do you want to shop for? KSR has lots of little tourist shops, but it is not close to any of the big shopping malls, which are mostly in the Sukhumvit area. Is there a reason you have chosen to stay in KSR?

From KSR, your simplest option is to hop on the boat from Phra Arthit pier down to Sathorn Pier, then take the Skytrain to Siam, where you'll find Paragon, Central World, Siam Discovery, Gaysorn, and MBK (Siam Center is closed until December).

For you others, KSR is being pushed up-market, although it still is the main area for the grubby budget set. There are now at least three nice hotels in the area, and more plans under way.

Interesting about KSR, Michael. I've never found a reason to go to that area (although I've been near there). It's just too unhandy a location. I wonder what up-market hotels will do.

"Near Bangkok" is Magna Bang Na. Huge but pretty standard stuff - but it has Ikea, if you fancy taking home a flat pack......
