seats on the JFK-BKK route
We called Thai air to reconfirm our seats outgoing, only to find they had us in two different rows...albeit in the front business class. To get us together, they could put us in the middle up front (not our favorite,) or that second section on the side. I've always thought that second section was a bit depressing and sandwiched in. Any thoughts? I know, everyone should have such a problem.
Thanks!

How did it happen that your seat assignments were changed? Maybe I should call them to see if they changed ours...
Anyway, seatguru.com covers the Thai A340-500 on its site now. They say the second section is as good as the front and suggest avoiding the first and last rows because of noise from the galleys. That being said, we also prefer the seats on the side in the front section. My biggest concern though is that they keep the plane too darn hot and it is difficult to sleep.

If by front you mean bulkhead, I would change those seats ASAP. You will hear the sound of the galley, toilet door opening/closing and even the toilet flushing during the entire flight. Also, your video screen is on the bulkhead in front of you, not built into the seat.
