Samui or Krabi or neither

I am looking to plan a honeymoon from Oct-8ish to about the 19th. Would Phuket, Samui or Krabi be best? What will weather be like? Is it the wet season all over (both sides)? Thanks

Mid October is a difficult time to define weather as it is when the season change, in general November to April are good for krabi/Phuket/Phi Phi/Trang etc, and May to October are good weather time for Samui, Koh Tao/Phangan, Koh Chang/Samet, Gulf Coast, Jomtien/Hua hin/Cha Am etc.

I suggest staying well away from Koh Samui as I've been there a couple of times during October and it's not fun when the island gets flooded and roads are cut off.
I think you will be safer with the Phuket/Krabi side which is at the end of its wet season, whereas Samui is just beginning. However, as James says, Oct is a tricky month in the South.

Travelled twice to phuket in Ocotber and found weather to be fine. it is a difficult month to predict weather wise but what you can predict in October in Phuket is cheaper accomodation and less people cause of low season. I would have no problem booking another trip in October to Phuket. Up to you though.

I must be getting old as I can remember texas how this comes up every year, October is downright unreliable weatherwise and I have no fond memories at all of being laid up roadside in a service area for the night with flood waters between Surat Thani and Prachuap !

Yep James, I remember we discussed this topic on another forum a few times.
I was on Samui from August to November in 2003. The heavy rains started late September and it poured virtually non-stop for weeks. Most of the island was flooded, roads were blocked off, all the mud was washed down from the mountains onto the beach areas below, which made walking around to get something to eat and drink a real pain in the %$#.
And even though it was still warm you couldn't swim, as the sea was too rough.
