Quick Kerala

Hello, can anyone reccomend somewhere for a 4-5 day luxury holiday in kerala? Husband and I will be flying from Colombo Sri lanka (on business trip there) and would like somewhere not too difficult to reach as our time is limited. We are interested in beach, heritage hotels or boats, good food, villages, playing carrom....Any ideas?
Thanks!

You can go to Kumarakom which has 2 nice resorts, one by Taj and one by the Casino group.
I've also heard good things about the houseboats.

I think from Colombo you could fly to either Trivandrum the capital, or Cochin further North. Trivandrum serves mostly more commercialised beach resorts but there are some lovely hotels. From Cochin you could do something more adventurous if you wanted such as 2 nights on a houseboat (which I just returned from doing and it exceeded all my expectations - but make sure you get the best you can afford; certainly with air con) followed by 2/3 nights on the beach. The last hotel we stayed in was called Marari Beach, about an hour from Cochin and half an hour from the houseboats. We had our own private pool and an outside bathroom, it was fun sitting on the loo looking at the stars or having a shower under the banana tree. It's just starting with the rainy season though in Kerala, depending on when you are going a boat may not be ideal. All the Casino hotels (now renamed CGH Earth - www.cghearth.com) that I saw were of an excellent standard with fantastic and friendly service.

Soon Kerala will have rainy season. However rainy season is also good in Kerala. You can fly into Cochin..Visit cochin city including a visit to Jew's syngogue. You can also go to a hill station called Munnar.Or can go to Alleppy and rent a boat house. You have fine beaches everywhere in kerala and clean. You can always take a country boat ride. But take care that it's rainy season.
have a nice trip..you will enjoy it.

Coconut Lagoon by Casino Hotel Group is great. I strongly recommend it. You have to get a boat from Allepey to get there. Food is wonderful. I have also heard great things about the houseboats. Enjoy!

Have you done Sri Lanka already? are great breach and heritage properties on the island and you will save airport transfers, check in time, etc. The Dutch House at Galle gets rave reviews, you can take a look at www.elephantcorridor.com, the tea plantations have a gorgeous old hotel, The Tea Factory.

Kerala is a ow some beautyfull place and The sun, the sand, the back water lagoons, the mountains and the culture is a unique combination that you won't find anywhere else, when planning for a holiday.
Kerala tourism basically revolves around four things -beaches, back waters, hill stations and Ayurveda. so u can try also Kerala, the name is almost synonymous with the word 'Ayurveda'. so i think this one is suitable for u to choose any idea.
