My reasons:
1. culture
2. affordable luxury (like hotel suites, spa treatments, shopping)
3. incredible Thai food!
4. while I don't usually think about it, it's so cold in Seattle right now that I have to list the warm weather

If food is included in culture, than culture it is. After moving from CA to IL, I've really started to miss good Asian food, which is why I am planning my honeymoon in Thailand! Not too fond of hot hot weather...Chicago in summertime is probably close and I hate the humidity.

Thank you. Yes, Thai food is good. I did not know it would be such an important factor for people to go. Any more reasons?

Well, the beaches are fine but I can do that anywhere. Jeane and I are not "nightlife" people unless you mean going out to eat in which case Bangkok rates very high - the Thai food is wonderful and other types of foods are readily available at reasonable prices. Weather - the heat is appreciated when we go in February because it is cold where we live. However, it can be very hot in Thailand to the point where it is not comfortable for long periods of time without a/c. Culture: if culture equals the friendliness of the Buddhist people, the smiles, the wais, absolutely. If culture means handicrafts, artwork, monuments and museums yes, but not to the extent of how we feel about your people.

Very easy answer for me. Thai people are the the most wonderful hosts that I have come accross any where in the world. Lots of other plus marks, but in the end , it all comes down to the wonderful Thai people. What an example for the rest of the world.

We are going to Thailand to experience a different culture, to sightsee and specifically to see the Thai architecture. The weather is not a big draw for me because I am not a big fan of heat and humidity, although I guess the freezing cold in the middle of winter is not so wonderful either. In a few days, we are leaving on our first trip to Thailand and we look forward to visiting your beautiful country.

thai people
shopping
food
reasonable prices for everything: hotels, eating, shopping, travel, personal serices
welcome from the country and its people
sights
weather, but heat and humidity are a negetive sometimes
custom made clothing
jewelry
excitement of bangkok
seaside destinations
attention to details in hotels
flowers

Culture/shopping and just being able to have a very well-needed "Real" vacation in my personal definition of what a "real" vacation is to me. In other words, not having to lift much of a finger if I don't want to since the service standards are so high in Thailand. I work my fingers to the bone at home, so I don't want to go on vacation where I have to do the same...I need and have darn well deserved luxury by the time I get on vacation and there's no other place I've been to in the 25-plus countries I've vacationed in that even comes close to the service/prices in Thailand. Happy Travels!
