Planning a trip to India

Hi, I am thinking of planning my second trip to India so I don't want to see all of the same things which is where most tours go. I would like to kind of hop around different cities and have small city tours when I get there. Does anyone have any ideas of any travel companies who might be able to put together an itinerary for me? I am basically interested in Agra,Bangalore,Varanasi,Pushkar, and a possibly tiger safari somewhere

Try Compass Tours. Many people on this board have had good experiences with them.

I second the vote for Compass Tours. They are willing and able to customize.

Hi All, I just wrote a note to Ajay at Yatrick.com and told him that advertising was the kiss of death on Fodors forums. (he notes my blog and pictures) I had told him about the forum and that he should read the posts, but didn't obviously didn't understand the rules regarding vendors.

I feel a bit resonsible for not telling him. However, they are a good operation and gave us great service on our recent trip.

BostonHarbour - very nice of you to jump in and clarify for Ajay. It was an honest mistake, so hopefully he will not suffer the wrath of Fodorites. It sounds like he would be worth consideration for those planning a trip to India.

We worked with President Travels, a local agency like Compass, Delhi based - www.presidenttravels.com, email [email protected]. We did the Golden Triangle plus Ranthambore with them over 8 days, 1 night Ranthambore, 2 nights Jaipur, 1 night Agra, 3 nights Delhi. We could not have been happier with the arrangement and got hotel room rates lower than websites. With your itinerary possible tiger safaris could be Ranthambore, Corbett or you could do something in Karnataka near Bangalore - Kabini Jungle Lodge is gorgeous.
