Overwhelmed by beach choices! Mid-November??
My husband and I are looking for a beach location to spend 2-3 days after Bangkok on our trip in mid-November. We are in our late 20s, looking for a beautiful, peaceful area, don't need nightlife. Looking for massages, swimming, snorkeling, possibly hiking, possibly an elephant ride (if there is a place that treats them appropriately). Would like lux accomdations, but still would like to stay under $200/night. Any recommendations you could give us would be greatly appreciated!!

Mid-November is when just about everywhere is nice. You could save yourself the time and money of a flight by heading to Hua Hin, which has most of what you're looking for.
Krabi is another good option, especially Railay, which has some fantastic scenery and a few nice accommodations that won't break the budget.

we went to Hua hin a couple of years ago mid november and the weather was glorious. We stayed at the Hyatt regency which i would HIGHLY recommend, its a very short distance from the town and easy to get tuk tuks too.
i didnt mention it before because i am not sure about snorkeling. But it has everything else and some of the resturants are wonderful (supatra by the sea, la mer, choa lay to name a few)
Its a very easy journey from Bangkok. so as michael say no plane
