Ken-am I mistaken? Isn't 11/18 in November next year? I do note that 10/18 is actually a Saturday, so perhaps that is the date to which you intended to refer. If so, we will put it at the top of our list.

We are actually on top of the Hotel@MIT goings-on. We've discussed alternative sites for the lunch portion of the GTG. I will do my best to avoid anyplace in the N-towns, i'e., Neeham, Newton, Natick and the like.

As noted, Bob is offline. We will gather all relevant information about dates and screw it up in the usual fashion. Stay tuned.

How sweet is it that this GTG exchange is occurring on a post originally concerned with the wonders of the ROS?

Andy, if you had read Ken's post carefully you might have figured out that he is offering TWO dates:
October 11 or October 18. Perhaps it is just that Red Sox fans/liberals/attorneys/Cambridites see things differently. That being said, Jeane and I will try to keep our calendars open for the GTG once the date and location are set.

Yes, I misread Ken's post. A typical communication from a non-liberal, i.e., easily misunderstood.

However, back to content, I will ,consult with His Bobness upon his return from the Wild West. I suspect that there will be a post specifically about the date prior to finalization.

i'm off the bus just in time to read this all before andy SCREWS it up royally....

11th would be the normal date but 18th might be fine too as that would allow peter and linda to come probably as they have to be in chicago the next week----linda is dancing at some club there....she and andy i think....she in a very chic dress and andy in the -----yup, you guessed it---THE SPEEDO.....

write me with any dates that interest you....

i stand by all prior comments: "THE ROS SUCKS"

sadly we may stay there in the spring just to confirm this....

i just cannot understand why people with such good taste like kathie and beth return there year after year....must be the air in seattle and cambridge....or maybe all those advanced degrees....

Hey Bob,
Welcome back!! You've been missed here at fodorville. Hope you had a nice time in AZ.

It would be great if Ken and Peter and Linda (and Lucy, of course) could all come to BOS this year. I'm flexible this time. I'll go with "whatever" date you guys think will best fit everyones' needs.

Now, is there a trip report on your bus ride? haha

Welcome back, Bob. I was getting uncomfortable with all of these postive comments about the ROS. If everyone on the board belives this, they'll all want to stay there and I won't be able to get my usual suite...

Fodorville? Fodorbridge is more like it. But we forgive. In Illinois, it probably is a village.

So the Prince of Barkness has returned, but he's headed for the wilds of New Hampshire. Hopefully, the generator is out and he won't be able to get online.

Long live the ROS.

Please tell me that you purloined 'Prince of Barkness' (which I intend to use and claim as my own)

I'm sorry to say that it came from the recesses of my twisted mind. A dark place, but I find it amusing.
