New Four Points by Sheraton in Bangkok
I dropped by the new Four Points by Sheraton yesterday - like you SPG people don't have enough choice in Bangkok. It's on Sukhumvit Soi 15, right behind S15 if you know where that is. That puts it just five minutes or so walk from the Skytrain and Subway. This is like a 'boutique' hotel, although the specs say it has over 200 rooms. The public spaces all look very nice. I didn't ask to see the rooms but someone who got a full tour says it's now the best in class for Bangkok.

Michael, Merry Christmas and Happy New Year to you. Haven't 'seen' you around here for a while (at least, not on the threads I've been reading).
I've been seeing promos for this Four Points in the BK Post, which we get delivered to our apt everyday. That sounds like a pretty good location! As you know, location is really one of the most important, if not THE most important, features to me. May have to check it out, although I'm spoiled by getting apartments instead of hotel rooms.

I've stayed four times here in the past five weeks. Good location. Staff is friendly, but still being trained up. Plat members of SPG are treateed very well here. Still some minor bugs as is with any new property upon opening. I snagged some of the 1900 Baht rates and felt it was good value for that price. Noticed more tour groups from India on this stay. Beer Vault had a good 2 for 1 happy hour promotion.

We had a 3-nights stay at the 4P Bangkok the day after it opened 2 December 2010. This is a solid new property modern and nice ... IMO, the best 4P property in the Starwood system. Located on Sukhumvit 15 in the middle of shopping, dining, entertainment, and walking distance to either Asok or Nana BTS stations. The hotel also have a free shuttle to Asok BTS. There is, however, no upgrades offered to Platinum tier members of SPG, no club lounge, and some of the rooms are tiny if you are traveling with family/kids. Platinum recognition consisted of full buffet breakfast at "The Eatry" and happy hour (5:30-7:30 PM) offerings at the Beer Vault.
If the rooms were bigger or if we were upgraded to a suite, we'd stayed longer than 3 nights. Checked out and moved to the Sheraton Grande Sukhumvit where the Platinum recognition is awesome including upgrade to Grande Suite 2802. http://www.flickr.com/photos/kalboz/...7625553717660/
