Take a look at the new Le Meridien in Chiang Mai.
Position is virtually in the Night Market. They should have some good rates on offer as CM is pretty quiet currently. We were there in January and ate at the Italian restaurant "Le Favola" which is in the Le Meridien.
We stayed very close by at the "D2" hotel which I would also reccommend if you like modern, design hotels. The Meridien is however more "luxe" and brand new. Checked out a room and was impressed.
