Need driver from Pudong airport to hotel
After a long trip solo, I don't want to stand in a queu and end up in a burgundy or navy taxi (or do you get to pick the turqoise?). My hotel quotes exhorbitant rate, so do you have a driver you have used and about how much (going to Ruijin Hotel).

Sorry, I can't help you with a driver, but I really can't see how you'd have a problem with the cab rank, as the cabs will be licenced and there should be a marshal to help with directions to your hotel. To be quite sure, though, it's a good idea to have the name and address written in Chinese characters. I don't think colour will be an issue - the important thing is a valid licence, which should be displayed on the dashboard. Just don't accept a ride from anyone who approaches you in or around the terminal - that way lies probable grief.
As your hotel appears to be in the old French Concession area, which is pretty central, the fare should not exceed RMB200 (we paid RMB145 a couple of years ago). It's a long hike from Pudong and depending on traffic may take 45 minutes or so.

I agree with Neil_Oz that getting a cab may be the best choice. As he said the cost is probably around $20.
But if you really want a private car, Sinohotel Guide provides airport pickup for $32:

If you want a rpivate car for a day trip etc., I also found a company called China Car Service. They have branches in Beijing, Shanghai, Hong Kong etc.

I used a private driver yesterday..took a day trip to Xitang from Shanghai. If you are willing to phone I will post the number..he has no e-mail.
Taxis are great in Shanghai..I paid 185 rmb today from Nanjing Road to Pudong..allow an hour due to traffic.
