OK, I'll show my ignorance too .... what's the meaning of the "LOL" and "ttt" abbreviations I see in Fodors postings?

LOL = lots of laughs

Ooo, controversy! I always thought LOL meant "Laugh(ing) Out Loud."

Marilyn - I debated listing all the variations of LOL but the point is pretty much the same (LOL)

Thanks, Craig. I did find a list of email abbreviations on the Web, but the explanation of "ttt" as "thought that too" didn't seem to fit.

Phew! I'm glad we finally got that settled. BTW, that was, IMHO, the biggest controversy we've had here on the Asia board in a long time. LOL

You'll all just have to try harder. I recommend a look at the Europe board to see how to run a REAL controversy. I mostly inhabit the Australia/Pacific board and it's pretty tame too.

ttt is (at least on Fodors) short for "to the top". Basically bumping the message up so that it rises back to the top of the chronology based on the date/time it was "topped"
