Krabi Hotels in Thailand
Am going to Krabi Thailand and can't decide on whether to stay at the Ao Nang Villa Resort or the Krabi Resort. Has anyone ever stayed at any one of these hotels? Any info on these or others would be greatly appreciated.

Just back from Krabi, can't really comment on the two resorts as I stayed at Tubkaak which I whole heartedly recommend, espcially for quiet romantic getaway. Sheraton had good programs for families but I heard service was bad...
Ao nang beach is much closer than other resorts, and much livelier. but felt very commericial and a bit cheap.

Weiwei22, We're trying to decide about a beach resort on Southern Thailand and want something relatively upscale and low-key, but also want to be able to get out to restaurants, day trips (perhaps boat trip to other islands), maybe some shopping. Did you find Tubkaak too isolated? How were the accommodations? Does it have a spa or spa services? restaurants? How were they? Haven't found many reviews on this resort, which may be a good thing in that it reflects it is not over-run with tourists, but it also makes it hard to evaluate if this is a good place for us. Thanks for any help you can give.

Hi there, we stayed at Ao Nang Pakasai Resort, it was about a 10 minute amble down to the water front. We had no problems at all, the only thing we could fault was not enough shade around the pool. We even did a cooking lesson there and cooked our evening meal which was then served to us in the restaurant. There were plenty of nice restaurants, one to the right of the hotel was really good, we are there 3 times. Easy to get tours etc and internet access (just to let the kids know what a great time we were having!!) Will go back again. Make sure you have a banana pancake from the vendors along the waterfront in the evening. Have a great time.

Location wise krabi resort, I remember it as the original place there ( in the good old days when there was a real beach there!), these days it 'might' be showing it's age but equally they may have updated, but for being close to the seas it's good.
Try this one for up to date reviews, there are just so many places these days all called 'resorts' it's best to check up to date reviews
