Sawasdee SimoneK,

I'm on Koh Samui right this minute, and there's a fairly decent place at the north end of Chaweng Beach here called "Family Bungalow." You can find out all you need to know about it (replete with lots of photos) at:

http://www.kingdomthailand.com/samui/family.htm

Depending on whether you want to be here in the beginning of September (high season thru 15/9) or end of September (normal season starting 16/9) you ought to be able to get a one-bedroom family suite for about US $100 per nite and/or a two-bedroom family suite for about US $150.

Enjoy,

ZZ

With young kids a Family Bungalow at Seascape resort might suite you, should be about $75 for all of you, right on a nice stretch of beach. Just search out cheap hotel rates for Koh Samui and you should find some good bargains, Spetember is still busy season but quieter than August and weather should be good.

Thank you both for your response. I know Koh Samui is much nicer than Phuket but my feeling is the resorts in Phuket will cater more for kids than Samui, do you have any advice as we are still toying with the idea of Phuket. We probably want a resort where there will be other kids for ours to play with, do you have any more suggestions for Samui & also Phuket, i am aware weather in Phuket may not be so good!

I think you will find just as much to do on Samui, there are lots of tours and excursions and plenty of families vacation on Samui, weather also is a major considoration as it would be Monsoon time in Phuket. From Samui you can also take trips to Koh Phangan and Koh Tao for snorkeling etc, there are lots of restaurants in Chaweng and many have kids menus, I really don't think you would find much if anything more for kids on Phuket than Samui.
