Khao Yai National Park

Are there any places in/near here that provide luxury accommodations (think African safari) and are close to wildlife viewing?

We were their about 3 years ago. The road from the town to teh park entrance has lots of hotels of all standards, but none that I would describe as 5* international standard, apart form a golf complex that we found by accident when driving around. I cant recall the name but it was a couple of mile from teh park entrance. We did not saty there but it look very upmarket.

As for the wildlife, this consists of a lots of monkeys and a few deer. If you are thinking anything similar to africa you will be sorly disappointed. there are a few waterfalls around, one of which was featured in The Beach.

Kirimaya is a 5 star property and it's probably the "golf complex" that you saw by accident.

Wildlife, such as those that you've described, are almost extinct(in the wild) in Thailand. There are a few zoos and such that you could see them but not in the wild like in Kenya or Tanzania.
