I would like to hear from the residence or visitors to South Carolina who spent some time in this park. It sounds fascinating from the description on national park website. We love hikes where we can see huge trees and this park has many of them. Please tell me about your personal impression of this place. Thanks

I've been to this place and would recommend it if you like visiting forests and swamps that have been kept relatively unchanged over the decades. There is some wildlife (I saw a deer) but nothing spectacular as far as scenery or unique as far as fauna is concerned. This is basically preservation of untouched nature, not majestic scenery.

It has been a few years (5?) since I've been to this park but it is like going back in time...walking along the raised boardwalks through the humid swamp with the trees towering above you. Wear plenty of bug spray.
