Jodo in Bkk

We're here....a good Thai flight....followed by the great limo mix-up (took 1 1/2 half hours, and they took us to the wrong hotel) Yikes! We're just recovering. Did eat Dim Sum at the Conrad...thanks Bob. Tried to go to the Gallery near the Sheraton...but there is a massage parlor upstairs now and the whole place smelled like Tiger Balm (no kidding)
Don has a bad case of jet lag, which means when he recovers, I should just about be ready to collapse.
To Be Continued!!!

Jealous you're in BKK. At the Gallery Cafe, you might try eating as far from the steps as possible. We noticed no odor in that spot. Starting the report so early eliminates any possibility of a penalty.

On one of our trips to the Gallery for lunch, there was a man who came out of the massge upstairs and sat down two tables away from us. Yipes! I couldn't smell anything else! So I know what you mean. The massage place as always been there as far as I know, but only once did we encounter that problem. However, they seem to put up and take down their lighting fixyures with great regularity, and they have been drilling into the ceiling each time I've been there!

just got back from "The Secret Place"...THANK YOU BOB and everyone for this. Will post more when I can (we're staying at the Millenium Hilton....and really enjoying it EXCEPT: $10 per 1/2 hour access to internet. No kidding. Even if you're on the executive floor.)
I've been requesting 5 minute gratis use, which they've done, but will have to wait to post a long message. I went across the river to the Sheraton, and they let us use their computer for free because we're Starwood Preferred.
Aside from that, there are some very nice things to say about this place.

The scoop on the Millenium; The rooms are small, yes, Bob...but the executive floor rooms have a large picture window opposite the king bed looking out on the river. The bathrooms were definately ill conceived...need to watch where you point the shower head or it'll leak out...The sinks (look great) but the faucet doesn't doesn't go far enough over so water spills out.
The hotel itself, imo, is very lovely...the lobby area peaceful and well done with a real center (unlike the Pen) Beautiful spa area with rooms looking out to a bamboo garden....
We liked it...they have some tweaking to do, however $10 per 1/2 hour for internet--ridiculous
Bob..got to Harmonique WONDERFUL WONDERFUL...AND THE BEST MORNING GLORY I'VE EVER HAD....ANOTHER WINNER, AND SO REASONABLY PRICED.
warning for folks going: drinks are exhorbitantly priced in BKk...sticker shock on some other things too.
we love it, though.
we're in Vientiene...report to follow.
