Is shopping center attached to Anantara Riverside Bangkok being renovated?

Hello all,

We have stayed at the Anantara Riverside in Bangkok (when it was the Marriott) and will be heading back in May 2015. We noticed that the shopping center attached to the hotel was closed and possibly being renovated. Does anyone know if it is being renovated and, if so, when it will reopen? We had a few favorite foot massage places there that were so convenient after a long day sightseeing. Just wondering if anyone knew the status.

Thanks!

It was torn down and a new hotel ( in addition to the ANatara) is being built out there. There will be places to eat and shop when completed. I think that part is due to open before the hotel, but am not sure of the progress they have made....it is Asia. You might send an email to Anatara and ask what the opening dates are. It is all the same parent company/ owner. The construction noise is not a problem. We were there in the fall and rarely heard any noise. it is a great place to stay .

Karen, Bob, we are thinking of staying here in April. From your experience is it worth paying extra for a Deluxe Premier Riverfront Room as opposed to a Deluxe Premier River View Room? Thanks.

we used to pay for the upgrade but we no longer do. the balconies are useless so the view from your room really does not affect your stay, imo

Thank you that's really helpful. I know you know this hotel so well and would have the answer. Thanks again.
